Tuscan Kitchen Memories book cover

Tuscan Kitchen
Memories

“Traditions don’t fade when they’re shared — they grow stronger in the hands of the new custodian.”

A story of food, family, and memory — set in the white-truffle hills of San Miniato. This book is available in both Italian and English editions.

— The Book

A family’s real wealth is something you can taste.

Tuscan Kitchen Memories is not a cookbook, and not a memoir in the traditional sense. It is the story of a day: a warm September afternoon when a Tuscan family gathers in the white-truffle hills of San Miniato to share the merenda that Nonna Liliana adored and always made with love.

What begins as a snack becomes a torrent of stories, flavours, and memories — from Nonno Romanello’s macelleria, the town square’s unofficial political sitting room, to culinary secrets passed down from Nonna’s laden tables. Every dish tells a piece of Tuscan history and daily life.

The book contains 28 traditional recipes, with family memories, and notes — so that anyone can keep these flavours alive in their own kitchen.

— The Author

Gian Luca Tapinassi.

Gian Luca Tapinassi was born in San Miniato, in the province of Pisa, and lives in Dublin, where he runs Writers’ Garage, a small self-publishing agency that is now also an independent publishing house.

He debuted as an author with Una Nascit@ in occidente (2023) and is the author of the practical guide 7 Powerful Hacks to Write Your Book in a Month. Tuscan Kitchen Memories is his most recent book.

From this work, two parallel developments have arisen: Convivium, the social dining platform he founded, a natural extension of the idea of sharing the pleasure of being together at the table, and a new book dedicated to the Tuscan butchering tradition, from butchering to the processing of cured meats, inspired by the work of his father Romanello.
